After receiving feedback from its customers, GDD is now offering a lighter version of its IP Receiver, model GRx8-32. This new 2 channels receiver, model GRx2, has the same size as the GDD SCIP which makes it easy to carry around. It is a new compact, low consumption unit designed for resistivity measurements. It features high capabilities allowing it to work on any field conditions.
This new 1 dipole IP Receiver works with the same software than the 32 channels IP Receiver and is perfect for Wenner and Schlumberger surveys.

The Sample Core IP Tester SCIP
System is an innovative way to measure the
electrical property of core samples. The
SCIP is a portable, battery-operated survey
instrument for evaluating the resistive
properties of cores.
The SCIP software is constantly improved to add new features based on customers feedback. Combined with its excellent reliability, the SCIP is a must have for any field crew planning expensive surveys or drilling.

GDD is constantly working to improve the reliability of its instruments and the IP Transmitters are no exception. With top of the line electronics, Transmitters made in 2010 will be more reliable than ever and still easy to use for the operator.
Instrumentation GDD inc. designed and field-tested in Saskatchewan with the collaboration
of AREVA Ressources Canada Inc. and Discovery Geophysics a new control
circuit boards for the GDD 7200W-4800V IP transmitters. These new GDD
IP Transmitters provided the field operator the additional voltage gaps
needed to survey in high resistive ground, especially for uranium exploration
in Saskatchewan where occasionally, one needs very high voltage to be
able to penetrate up to 1 km deep to find the alteration zone associated
to graphite. AREVA and the biggest producer of uranium in Canada are among
the customers who had I.P. surveys done with this new technology in Northern
Saskatchewan with the collaboration of Discovery International Geophysics

Several enhancements took place to make it easier to use: new push buttons,
software, caps, modifications to the circuit board, etc. Field tests confirmed
that the readings are now more stable and repeatable.

Earlier this year, a new software version has been released with more logging options and a new mode to log data from cores. A newer version of the probe will be available with increased precision reaching the new standard of 10-6 SI for the magnetic susceptibility. This newer version will still retain the ergonomic looks of its predecessor and will be as easy to use.
