SSW System

Relative susceptibility and EM conductivity meter

Why mining when you can avoid it? This is exactly why you should use the SSW System developed by Instrumentation GDD Inc. It reduces blasting, dilution and increases ore grade within your mining operation.

The SSW System is a light, portable and efficient electromagnetic instrument which independently measures the content of conductive and/or magnetic material in the ore of a production hole. It can even measure conductive bodies in a magnetic environment.

Surveying a drill hole with a GDD SSW probe will help you determine the shape of the high-grade ore body within the waste rock and low grade ore. Using this tool, you will know exactly where to stop blasting thus saving time and money. The SSW probe can also be used to discover mine pockets of rich ore that are otherwise left in place. Increase ore grade at the mill and get rid of the waste!

Features

  • Relative EM conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurement
  • Quick and inexpensive. Take less than 2 minutes to probe 30 m depth blast hole within 10 cm intervals
  • Shock resistant, portable and weatherproof
  • Provide real time feedback
  • SSW different lengths cables (30 m, 60 m, etc.)
  • Optional push rods and probe holder for high holes
  • Transfers data from reading unit to you PC
  • The SSW probe directly measures three different parameters: the relative EM conductivity (HFR1 - conductor content), the intrinsic EM conductivity (Rt2 - conductor quality) and the relative magnetic susceptibility of the material (MAG3 - magnetic content)
  • Applications : mining exploration, mining exploitation and other related fields

  1. The HFR value (High Frequency Response) represents a specific reaction of the high frequency, in hertz, to the presence of a conductor near the probe. The HFR gives the quantity of conductive material (relative conductivity).
  2. The Rt value (Ratio) indicates the quality of a conductor and is independent of the quantity of present material (intrinsic conductivity). The Rt is unaffected by the volume of conductive material and qualifies the conductor based on a scale between 0 % (poor) to 100 % (excellent).
  3. The MAG value (Magnetic) represents a specific reaction of the probe, in hertz, to the presence of a magnetic body, in particular one containing magnetite. MAG gives the amount of magnetic material (relative susceptibility).
